Antidote

I have 3 addictions:

1: Toast with marmalade,
2: Coffee
3: White wine

The first one hasn’t worried me too much except when I was eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner in 2003. However, I did feel some concern about the other two.

But now - I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. It seems that regular coffee drinkers avoid liver damage caused by alcohol.
Coffee is the antidote to alcohol. You probably read that in the news recently.

OK you say - but coffee sends up the blood pressure. Well no … It’s been proved that this is a myth.

But surely ‘drink’ is bad for you in lots of other ways?

This may be true, unless you are a) female and b) middle aged in which case it does you good. It makes you brainy. It’s true!

All this comes from serious scientific research. It may be sponsored by Kenco and carried out at the Laboratoire Sauvignon, but I believe it.

As an old Indian saying goes ‘Pick the truth of your choice’

This will do me!

Carry on drinking the coffee and picking the truth of your choice. Who wants to exist on a diet of water and raw vegetables anyway?

I used to have an addiction to tea which I unfortunately can't drink anymore because it does evil things to my digestive system. A life without caffeine is a life less well lived though ...

I didn't know tea could cause indigestion, but it turns your teeth brown.
Strong coffee with paracetamol is an excellent headache cure.

The tea turning your teeth brown myth has been debunked.

Tea is actually better than water.

Who'd have known it!

Pete: I shall return to your comments space .... Watch out!

Gert: Tea has the anti oxidants - but I'm amazed about the teeth as I've seen what it does to the cups.
Still we don't use Colgate on those do we?

"Pick the truth of your choice" - what a wonderful saying! I shall tuck that one away for future use.
I see Mittel Europe has struck the verification - "wrtwmzbg" could be the next popular holiday destination.

Stitchwort: See you there!

Spinsterella: NO! - but it is in the middle of being born and being as old as me ... and Joanna.

The truth (scientific research) I like best is the one that says CHOCOLATE is good for us. Specially dark chocolate with macadamia nuts, which turn out to be the best source of everything.
