'Allo TOOTSIE!

In Girona there's a museum devoted to the cinema.
You might expect to see DVDs of Fellini, Bertolluci and Pasolini in the window - but you'd find this.
*All pics click to enlarge

How do they do 'Allo 'Allo in Catalan? And why?

At the moment they have a special exhibition 'Dressed for the Cinema' taken from this collection. The young woman on the reception desk told us it was free and we could take as many photographs as we wished.

Here's the dress worn by Dustin Hoffman in 'Tootsie'. On the left is Tom Hanks's outfit from 'Forrest Gump'.

These are the shoes worn by Geena Davis in 'Thelma and Louise' and below is Tarzan's actual loincloth.

Underneath each costume was a small TV screen showing the relevant excerpt from the film. Great stuff.

Can you identify this outfit?

Or this one as Garfer got the first one.

Afterwards we went for lunch.

This is the Catalan menu - and no - I haven't a clue, and there was no translation - I managed to avoid meat. Kev had 'xai' which turned out to be mutton and was extremely delicious.
More exciting that way isn't it?

Is Yo Claudio a hip hop version?

It's a disgrace they shut down the Museum Of The Moving Image in London.

The one in Bradford wasn't as much fun.

that loin-cloth reminds me of a pub in deepest darkest Dorset where there was model Tarzan in only a loin cloth in the ladies loo. If anyone lifted the loin cloth a bell rang in the bar.

Apparently.

Yes - I would love to see the complete collection one day.

Steve:
Far too classy.
But I bet 'On the Buses' was lurking there somewhere.

Ziggi:
Oo how embarrassing.
And now I'm wondering what was underneath - of course.

Freddy:
Thankyou for your kind offer.
But I have a previous engagement.

Did mj send you by any chance?

I find that smiling and pointing when abroad usually works in restaurants.

Or talking in English loudly.

Tony:
Very true - and I ate one and survived.
I was pleaasantly surprised about the photos - flash as well.

Lubin:
It's the smiling that works.
It doesn't come easily to me - but people make the mistake of thinking you're a nice person and respond with help.

Excellentio!

And yes I'd recognise Geena's shoes anywhere! Were they actually even in any shots (I shall now have to go and watch the film to check)?

Those Gena Davis shoes are ghastly.

Oh boy.

What shoes did Dustin Hoffman wear with that dress?

NiC:
I wonder if she brought her own - they look so well worn.
There was no film clip of the shoes.

Pete:
The poster just shows a little of them - black with heels - nothing that Kylie would like.
